Stop the Holiday Overwhelm: Our GCSE Science Revision Course in Dulwich is Here to Help
Easter arrives, and with it comes a familiar tension. The exams are close now: close enough to feel real: but there’s still so much content to cover. Your child might be staring at a stack of revision guides, unsure where to begin. Perhaps they’re making colour-coded timetables that fall apart by day two. Or maybe they’re doing something, but you’re not quite sure if it’s the right something.
If this sounds familiar, you’re certainly not alone.
We speak with parents every year who describe the same pattern: their child wants to do well, they’re willing to put in the work, but the sheer volume of GCSE Science content feels overwhelming. Biology, Chemistry, Physics: each with its own language, its own exam quirks, its own mountain of facts to remember.
The Easter holidays should offer a chance to reset. But without structure, they can quickly become two weeks of good intentions that don’t quite translate into progress.
That’s exactly why we created our GCSE Science Revision Course in Dulwich. Not as a pressure-filled bootcamp, but as a calm, focused environment where students can find their footing again.
When Revision Feels Like a Mountain
Here’s what we often see: a student who performed reasonably well in Year 10, perhaps even enjoyed Science, now feels like they’re drowning. The jump to Year 11 brought more content, more complexity, and the creeping realisation that GCSEs are no longer some distant event.

The problem isn’t usually effort or intelligence. It’s that GCSE Science demands a particular kind of revision: one that goes beyond highlighting textbooks and hoping for the best. Students need to understand why reactions happen, how systems connect, and what examiners are actually looking for in a six-mark question.
Without guidance, many students default to passive revision: reading notes, watching videos, perhaps attempting a few practice questions before giving up when they get stuck. It feels productive, but often isn’t.
Easter becomes a pressure point because it’s the last significant stretch of time before exams begin. Parents naturally want to help, but knowing how to help with triple science content can feel impossible: especially when the syllabus has changed so much since we were at school.
A Structured Reset: 7th–10th April 2026
Our four-day GCSE Science Revision Course in South London offers something simple but powerful: a plan.
From Tuesday 7th to Friday 10th April 2026, students join us at Harris Boys Academy in East Dulwich for intensive, expert-led sessions running from 9:30am to 3:30pm each day. We’ve designed the course to take the guesswork out of revision entirely.
Each day, students rotate through Biology, Chemistry, and Physics sessions, led by specialist teachers who know exactly what the exams require. The structure is clear. The content is mapped out. Your child simply needs to arrive ready to learn.
This isn’t about cramming facts into tired minds. It’s about building genuine understanding: the kind that stays with students when they walk into the exam hall and face an unfamiliar question.

We keep our groups small, with a maximum of six students per class. This allows us to notice when someone is struggling with a concept, to answer questions properly, and to tailor our explanations to the students in front of us. It’s a very different experience from a crowded classroom or an anonymous online course.
Meet the Specialists
One of the things that makes our GCSE Science Revision Course in Dulwich distinctive is the teaching team behind it.
Ruth leads our Biology sessions. With years of experience helping students untangle the complexities of cell biology, ecology, and human physiology, she has a gift for making intimidating topics feel manageable.
Chloe takes Chemistry. As someone who has taught A Level Chemistry for many years, she understands exactly which GCSE concepts students find trickiest: and how to build the foundations that make everything else click into place.
Kate handles Physics. Her background includes teaching at some of South London’s most respected schools, and she brings a clarity to equations and calculations that students genuinely appreciate.
Between us, we bring over 40 years of combined teaching experience, including time at Alleyn’s School. We’ve marked thousands of exam papers. We know where students lose marks unnecessarily, and we know how to fix it.
More importantly, we genuinely enjoy teaching. Students pick up on that. Learning from someone who cares about the subject: and about them: makes a real difference.
Beyond Rote Learning: How We Actually Teach
There’s a significant gap between knowing facts and understanding science. Our course focuses firmly on the latter.

We use interactive, discussion-based teaching that asks students to think, not just remember. Why does this reaction produce a gas? What would happen if we changed this variable? How do you actually structure a six-mark answer so the examiner can follow your reasoning?
This approach does two things. First, it builds deeper understanding: the kind that allows students to handle unfamiliar questions, not just regurgitate memorised answers. Second, it’s more engaging. Students who feel involved in their learning tend to retain far more than those passively copying notes.
We also focus explicitly on exam technique. Many capable students lose marks not because they don’t know the content, but because they don’t know how to show what they know. We practise answering real exam questions, discuss marking schemes, and help students understand what examiners are actually looking for.
By the end of the four days, students leave with more than just revised content. They leave with strategies they can apply independently for the remaining weeks before their exams.
What Parents Are Saying
We’re proud of the feedback we receive from families who have joined our courses:
“The GCSE science revision course exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only did my daughter grow in confidence and practice her exam technique, but she also enjoyed working in small groups and the warm, engaging style of all three teachers. Thank you for a brilliant course!”
This is exactly what we hope for: students who feel more confident, more prepared, and: importantly: less anxious about what lies ahead.

We keep our groups small deliberately, so places are limited. If this feels like the right fit for your child, we’d be very happy to welcome them.
